Sewing machine adventure - part 1

I had never used a sewing machine before. I also do not have much experience sewing by hand, but I have done so in the past. So I decided it was time to learn to use one, and I went over to my grandmother's, who owns a machine. She first taught me how to work it – how to change the needle, insert the thread and so on. I then experimented with different kinds of stitches.

I already have plans to go back, maybe this time I will actually make something.

Well done - you inspire me. Ever since my left-handed mom tried to teach me to embroider, followed by my struggling to learn to sew on her old and cantankerous machine I've avoided sewing anything at all (aside from simple hand-mending, buttons and such). I've seriously considered signing up for one of those community "learn to sew" classes out there, it can't possibly be as difficult as my brain tries to convince me it is or there wouldn't be so many people out there who can sew. ;-)

So well done indeed! May your adventures in the land of needle and thread prosper.

Oh wow, that's really cool! I'm impressed - most of my sewing lately has been in the back of things rather than machine embellishments. I am slightly intimidated by it, plus my machine is rather basic.

What do you think you'd like to make? *curious*

I made a small bag for my tarot deck awhile back (which I have no photos of). Also, this is my current wip.
